What: Come join ΜΙΣ officers for a corporate field trip to visit 1-2 MIS companies in the Seattle area. Potential companies include: Accenture, Boeing, Deloitte Consulting, Ernst & Young, Expedia, KPMG, Microsoft, Safeco, Washington Mutual, and Weyerhaeuser. The trip will culminate with a WSU MIS Student-Alumni Event at Safeco Field for a Seattle Mariners game. The event will include a pre-game gathering at the Bullpen Market at Safeco Field.

Why: To...

  1. Provide current and potential MIS majors with an opportunity to visit employers of WSU MIS graduates.
  2. Provide undergraduates with an opportunity to network with WSU alumni who are IS professionals.
  3. Learn more about the MIS major and job opportunities.
  4. Enjoy America's favorite pastime.

Who: Any current or potential MIS majors

When/Where: Friday, April 25th. A chartered bus will leave Pullman at ~7:00 am. The bus will make stops at 1-2 of the aforementioned MIS companies. After the organization visits, the bus will go to Safeco Field where the alumni event starts at 5:15 pm in the Bullpen Market. The game starts at 7:05 pm. The bus will depart for Pullman from Safeco Field at ~10:30 pm.

Cost: $30 for Mu Iota Sigma members ($40 for non-members). The remaining costs will be covered by the Department of Information Systems.

How to Apply:

Selection for the trip will be a competitive process, which will be administered by the MIS faculty and ΜΙΣ officers. Please fill out the following application form ASAP to be considered for the trip - selection will begin during the early part of the spring 2008 term.
