The Department of Information Systems Friday Research Seminar Series is designed to facilitate research excellence for faculty and doctoral students in the MIS program at WSU.  Research presentations are done by visiting scholars, as well as MIS faculty and doctoral students from WSU.  All presentations (unless otherwise noted) are scheduled to occur starting at 10:00am in Room 203, Todd Hall.

Biographical Sketch:
Rudy Hirschheim is the Ourso Family Distinguished Professor of Information Systems in the E.J. Ourso College of Business, Louisiana State University. Professor Hirschheim has been on the faculties of the University of Houston, Templeton College - Oxford (UK), London School of Economics (UK) and McMaster University (Canada). He has held visiting appointments at Monash University (Australia), University of New South Wales (Australia) University of Bayreuth (Germany) and University of Paris-Dauphine (France). He and Richard Boland are the Consulting Editors of the John Wiley Series in Information Systems. Among Dr. Hirschheim's 15 books, are three on the topic of outsourcing: Information Systems Outsourcing: Myths, Metaphors and Realities (co-authored with Mary Lacity, and published by John Wiley & Sons in 1993); Beyond the Information Systems Outsourcing Bandwagon (also co-authored with Mary Lacity and published by John Wiley & Sons in 1995); and Information Systems Outsourcing in the New Economy: Enduring Themes, Emergent Patterns and Future Direction co-edited with A. Heinz and J. Dibbern, published by Springer-Verlag in Berlin, Germany in 2002 (2nd edition published in 2006). 

Professor Hirschheim is currently a Senior Editor for the Journal of the Association for Information Systems and on the editorial boards of the journals: Information and Organization; Information Systems Journal; Journal of Strategic Information Systems; Journal of MIS; and Journal of Information Technology; and has previously been on the boards of: European Journal of Information Systems and MIS Quarterly. He was VP for Publications for the Association for Information Systems.
